KatFinder (“we,” “our,” or “the Extension”) is committed to providing a fun, productive tab management experience while respecting your absolute right to privacy. This policy explains how we handle data.
KatFinder is designed with a Privacy-First architecture.
To provide the core features of KatFinder, the extension requires the following permissions:
| Permission | Purpose |
|---|---|
tabs |
Used to count open tabs to update the Cat’s mood and identify “stale” or duplicate tabs for “Heatmapping” and “Pounce” features. |
storage |
Used to save earned “Fish Treats,” unlocked Shop items, and UI preferences. This data stays on your device. |
alarms |
Used to periodically check for stale tabs in the background. |
All data generated by KatFinder, including your game progress and shop unlocks, is stored using the chrome.storage.local API.
Note: This data is stored locally on your computer and is automatically deleted if you uninstall the extension.
We never sell, trade, or share your data with third parties. There is no background tracking, no analytics pings, and no remote advertisements.
We may update this policy occasionally to reflect changes in our features or legal requirements. Any updates will be posted here on GitHub.
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or the code behind KatFinder, please open an issue in this GitHub repository.
